Based in Buchen in southern Germany, OKW began by manufacturing tuning knobs and other components for the TV and radio industry. In those early days our products were produced in Bakelite, however, in 1955 injection molding was introduced and quickly became the main production method.
In 1972 we launched the worlds first "standard" plastic enclosures for housing electronics equipment. These proved an instant success with a market hungry for standard off-the-shelf products. Over the last 29 years we have added hundreds of enclosures to our programme.
In 1984 OKW was split into two companies the molding company OdenwSlder Kunststoffwerke GmbH & Co and the enclosures company OKW GehSusesysteme KG.
Today the molding company not only manufactures our own plastic enclosures, but also very complex technical parts for some of Germany's most famous manufacturers: Bosch - Siemens, Audi and Cherry, to name but a few.
