What is a pneumatic regulator?

Typically, the compressed air that arrives in a pneumatic system from the air compressor is more highly pressurized than the system itself. That means it needs to decompress before it enters the system. Otherwise, it has the potential to damage the application it is powering, which in turn may limit the lifespan of that equipment.
