Human Resources

We pride ourselves on the talent we recruit to work at our corporate office in Fort Worth, Texas and in our 43 sales offices serving the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. To snag top talent, benefits need to be attractive, so we analyze and introduce programs that make our more than 800 employees happy and healthy.

Here are some of the major efforts from our HR group:
  • Employee Engagement Survey
Every two years, an employee engagement survey is given to all employees to measure important factors in their daily work life. These results are turned into action items to help make Allied an even better place to work.
  • Emphasis on Employee Development
Allied provides many resources to employees interested in developing their skills. This can be accomplished through 360 degree feedback tools, online and classroom training, and education reimbursement.
  • Health and Safety Focus
We strive for safety first on every job performed, training our employees on safe work practices. Programs include driver training, safety leadership classes, and first aid training.
  • Creating a Great Place to Work
We provide employees with opportunities to serve the community at United Way agencies and other local charities. Several times a year, Allied offers employee events such as the March Madness basketball contest, a Halloween costume contest, a Chili Cook-off, and other fun events.
Due to our large geographic reach, our HR staff is capable of handling a broad range of diverse projects and assignments. Allied HR personnel have strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to interact with many levels of staff in corporate, sales offices, and the warehouse. HR consists of the following areas:
  • Benefits
Benefits coordinates the administration of company benefit programs and policies, including group medical, dental, vision, life, 401K, and short-term and long-term disability plans. Benefits also administrates compensation and annual merit reviews.
  • Payroll
Payroll oversees all activities associated with processing payroll on a bi-weekly, multi-state basis.
  • Recruiting
Recruiting recruits, screens, and interviews job candidates for exempt and non-exempt, including temporary and permanent positions, and ensures company compliance with all employment related laws.
  • HR Generalist
An HR Generalist is responsible for all or part of recruiting, development and training, policy development and compliance, employee relations, and employee wellness.
  • HR Representative
The HR Representative performs clerical and support duties for the HR department, including worker’s compensation.
