3M Smart Lens™ Series — Premium Photochromic Protective Eyewear:
Photochromic Smart Lens™ protective eyewear, featuring transitional, abrasion-resistant polycarbonate lenses, and a soft adjustable nose bridge, nylon brow and magnesium alloy spring-hinged temple for a flexible fit. 3M™ Smart Lens™ Protective Eyewear features photochromic lenses that lighten and darken as outdoor lighting conditions change. That means changing outdoor light conditions doesn’t require changing eyewear or carrying several pairs of safety glasses anymore. Designed for comfort, the glasses come with spring adjusted temples that provide a customized fit on either narrow or wide faces, a soft nose bridge that adjusts, and a nylon brow that’s easy going on the forehead. The impact-resistant polycarbonate lenses absorb 99.9% UVA and B rays.
These safety glasses are recommended for the following tasks: chipping, chiseling, drilling, grinding, machining, masonry, pouring/casting, power fastening, riveting, sanding and sawing. Do not use this eyewear in an industrial setting without contacting your supervisor or safety specialist to ensure that it will help provide proper protection for the specific hazards in your workplace. Some operations may require special filter lenses, machine guards, goggles, face shields or other safety equipment. Industries in which these safety glasses are commonly used include aviation, construction, food and beverage, general manufacturing, mining, oil and gas, primary metals and transportation.
Smart Lens™ safety glasses meet the traffic signal requirements of ANSI Z80.3-2008 and the high impact requirements of ANSI Z87.1-2015. Transition from light to dark takes less than 20 seconds (allowing just 22% light transmission), and dark to light takes less than 3 minutes (allowing 77.5% light transmission).Special care should be taken when moving from outdoors to indoors. Air temperature may affect the lens transition time. Do not store on vehicle dashboard. Prolonged exposure to intense heat can damage eyewear. Always store in protective bag or case. Eye protection is important to safeguard your eyes and maintain healthy vision.
