Metal-to-metal set screw threads.

Pros: Ease of installation, durable, accurate
Cons: Hold cast knob on back side of dial would work better if extended out a fraction more. Tends to slide out of hole at times.
Other thoughts: Overall very happy with this product. Used on 50+ pieces of equipment in our process with minimal issues
