Pros: I have never had any problem with Scotch tape. It has exceptional adhesive, not dependent from temperature and very humidity resistant. One of my latest experiences was a small water leak in a basement. One of the damaged boxes contained two rolls of 33+Super, which I have used for a while. To my surprise, all that I needed to do is dry a tape and it was ready to use. I am amazed, how Scotch can manufacture product which is so sturdy and resistant to elements. I know that everyone who has ever done installations will agree with me. As the matter of fact we all call that black insulating tape “a Scotch tape which speaks for itself. None of the copies have ever matched the ORIGINAL - a real SUPER TAPE. I used it when I was a kid and I use it as a senior engineer. Need I say more?
Cons: Have not found any.
Other thoughts: Working in electronics requires specialized tools and accessories have worked with Scotch tape for years and have never had any temptation for a dollar store tape. When insulating any electrical connection, it is instrumental that tape stays on the connection and performs well after time and changing conditions. Perfect example where copy can NEVER match THE ORIGINAL. They pioneered it and have kept high quality of product, which is commendable in times of savings and cost cutting. Thanks 3M!

The only real electrical tape Review Rating: 5

Tech Level: Above-average knowledge - Ownership: More than 1 year
Pros: We have tried other products and have came to the realization that this is the only tape on the market that can withstand the test of time. The glue does not release when exposed to heat and does not get brittle in the cold. We have added the words Do not substitute to our ordering system to prevent cheaper take-offs from being ordered.
Cons: Glue sticks so well it can be hard to get it removed. You have to tuck the end back onto itself so the next guy can get it off.
