1. Communications/Marketing Intern

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Update Materials Schedule.
  • Confirm circulation, target audience and editorial calendar for each trade publication used for advertising.
  • Track competitive advertising and input into spreadsheet.
  • Request Insertion Orders monthly, and ensure accuracy.
  • Track sales leads.
  • Review benchmarks based on readership studies.
  • Check for new readership studies with each of the publications & add to benchmarks.
  • Attend rep meetings with other marketing rep.
  • Update weekly status report based on info provided.
  • Look for new promo item ideas; via internet and via catalog, and request pricing.
  • Other projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

2. Catalog Intern

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist Media personal in page template and style guides.
  • Research and apply images on catalog pages.
  • Assist Media Manager to lay out items groups/modules to go on catalog pages.
  • Should have knowledge of Quark Express/Illustrator in a MAC environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Junior/Senior students from an accredited University will be considered for this internship. Graduated students from an accredited University are welcome to apply.

3. Quality Intern- Reverse Logistic

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Revive Customer Returns Initiative.
  • Review and edit procedures, process flows, roles and responsibilities and work instructions that support published 2008 Sales Terms and Conditions, specifically Cancellations and Returns.
  • Emphasize importance of adhering to (enforcement of) Cancellation and Returns Policy; Set expectations for staffs' conformance to the Policy.
  • Establish Accountability Policy and implement scorecard to reinforce achieving Key Performance Measures ("Real-Time Metrics" - Goal vs. Actual).
  • Finalize Customer Returns Details.
  • Formally announce and Implement "1-800-Returns".

4. Product Management -Product Management Intern-Interconnect & Technology

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up stock numbers and review pages for the upcoming catalog.
  • Analyze and disposition product within the returns/receiving database.
  • Review and complete monthly ship and debits.
  • Run reports for supplier meetings.
  • Help to improve Allied's content on the website by loading product accessories, finding missing PDFs, loading extended offer, and working with the supplier to provide missing photos.
  • Help out with quoting when Product Managers are out of the office.
  • Benchmark key lines against our competitors to ensure Allied is competitive in the marketplace.
  • Write work instructions for standard operating procedures.
  • Track down catalog agreements and money with suppliers.

5. NSC Intern

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The summer internship will be focused on a research project supporting Allied's national accounts program.
  • Research directed to under producing or non-producing locations from key Allied National Accounts.
  • Contact key personnel at account location.
  • Discover and capture key account information regarding the specific location.
  • Documentation of information.
  • Create brief written analysis of each national account location contacted.
  • Build data base from key information gathered from research.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Junior/Senior students from an accredited University will be considered for this internship. Graduated students from an accredited University are welcome to apply.

6. Warehouse

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop a Warehouse Report Card utilizing given defined metrics.
  • Review box and material usage for outbound order processing and shipments.
  • Analyze warehouse storage capacity.
  • Develop reporting related to product movement, in and out of zones, as a percentage of the total based on daily, weekly and monthly movement.
  • Review current storage strategies and the related inventory effects to determine a base strategy the could be implemented for new products.

7. Web Development Intern

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work under the supervision of Senior Developers to document, design, test and implement web based applications using Microsoft ASP.NET and/or Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Use and understand a modified software development lifecycle and agile development methodology to design and develop web applications.
  • Work with web design to develop applications using a consistent look and feel, and adhere to standard usability guidelines.
  • Develop use case scenarios and test scripts to perform quality assurance prior to launch of major applications.
  • Work with customers, both external and internal, to identify and document requirements for web applications.
  • ** Must have taken at least one programming course in either Java, C#, VB, ASP or SQL.
